The Swedish tenor Anders J. Dahlin studied at the Music Conservatory in Falun, at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo, and at the Royal Danish Academy of Opera in Copenhagen.
He regularly work with conductors such as Frans Brüggen, William Christie, Dominique Daigremont, Alessandro De Marchi, Erik Eriksson, Adam Fischer, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Roy Goodman, Jonathan Guyonnet, Emmanuelle Haïm, Philippe Herreweghe, Manfred Honeck, Eric Hull, René Jacobs, Konrad Junghänel, Tõnu Kaljuste, Robert King, Alexis Kossenko, Stephen Layton, Marc Minkowski, Stefano Molardi, Hervé Niquet, Philip Pickett, Philippe Pierlot, Christophe Rousset, Andreas Spering, Christoph Spering, Stephen Stubbs, Mark Tatlow and Antony Walker.
Anders J. His opera roles include the title roles in Rameau’s Zoroastre, Platée and Dardanus, Atis in Rameau’s Les Paladins, Castor in Rameau’s Castor et Pollux, David in Charpentier’s David et Jonathan, Coridon and Un Insulaire in Lully’s Roland, Adraste in Marin Marais' Sémélé, Un Habitant / Un Plaisir in Henry Desmarest’s Venus et Adonis, Nutrice / Lucano / Soldato / Tribunale in Monteverdi’s L'Incoronazione di Poppea, Pastore 1 / Eco in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Telemaco in Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d'Ulisse, Ombre dell’inferno in Monteverdi’s Il ballo delle ingrate, Pompeo in Vivaldi’s La Farnace, Oberon, The Chinese man and Phoebus in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, to mention just a few. He has also sung a number of roles in contemporary operas.
Anders J. Dahlin is a much sought after concert singer and regularly sings with major orchestras throughout Europe. He has received enormous acclaim for the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions as well as for the tenor soloist in Britten’s Serenade for tenor.
Engagement in 2010 included Pompeo in Vivaldi’s Il Farnace at Theater an der Wien, Onia in Scarlatti’s Il Dolore di Maria Vergine at Teatro Campos Bilbao, Atis in Rameau’s Les Paladins at Deutsche Oper Düsseldorf, Valére / Tacmas in Rameau’s Les indes galantes in Amsterdam, Campra’s Le Carnaval de Venise in Paris and Utrecht and a concert with arias by Rameau in Utrecht.
2011 has started with the title role in Rameau’s Platée at the Deutsche Oper Düsseldorf, Thesbis and Mercure in Rameau’s Platée at The Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, Pompeo in Vivaldi’s Il Farnace at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris and Orphée in Gluck’s Orphée et Eyridice in Nanterre.
