The young mezzo-soprano Ingeborg Gillebo was born and raised in Norway. She has a bachelor degree in classical singing from The Norwegian Academy of Music and in the summer of 2009 she graduated from the Opera Academy in Copenhagen where she studied with Professor Susanna Eken.
During her studies she sang roles such as Idamante in Idomeneo, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, the title role in Carmen and Marie in The Bartered bride.
In 2009 Ingeborg sang concerts with The Royal Danish Music Conservatory Symphony orchestra with the conductors Tobias Ringborg and Christian Badea at the Royal Danish Opera, The Royal Theatre and at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen.
In 2010 she participated in Academie européenne de musique 2010 at Festival d’Aix- en- Provence.
Ingeborg recently made her debut at the Royal Danish Opera as Margret in Wozzeck with director Keith Warner and conductor Michael Boder.
In the autumn of 2010 she had a significant success as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Norwegian National Opera in Thaddeus Strassbergers production conducted by Jonathan Darlington.
In June 2010 she sang Zélis in Liszt’s Don Sanche with the conductor Laurent Pillot in London as well as in Amsterdam in the connection with European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage Award Ceremony (awarded to Placido Domingo).
Other forthcoming highlights include Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Norwegian National Opera and Blumenmädchen in Wagner’s Parsifal in Salzburg and at Teatro Real Madrid as well as in concert performances in Berlin and Vienna with the conductor Christian Thielemann.
In July 2011 she was one of the nine finalists in the Hans Gabor Belvedere Operetta Competition in Vienna.
