BIRGITTE CHRISTENSEN and MAIJA SKILLE at Teatro Municipal Santiago
The soprano Birgitte Christensen sings the title role and the up-and-coming alto Maija Skille sings Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago 17, 20, 23, 26 and 28 July under the baton of Federico Maria Sardelli. Birgitte Christensen sings a concert at Oslo Chamber Music Festival 19 August. Maija Skille performs Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Oslo 28 and 29 August.
ANN HALLENBERG - Handel, Vivaldi and Rossini
The mezzo Ann Hallenberg records a solo CD with arias by Handel with Alan Curtis in the beginning of July. This is followed up by a recording of Selinda in Vivaldi’s Il Farnace with Diego Fasolis. 16 July she sings the title role in Handel’s Agrippina in Santiago de Compostela with Fabio Biondi. 21 and 22 August she sings concerts with arias by Handel in Oslo with Alan Curtis. 28 and 29 August she is Isabella in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri at the Gothenburg Opera
MARITA SOLBERG - Mahler and Handel
Soprano Marita Solberg joins mezzo Anne Sofie von Otter, baritone Thomas Hampson and conductor Manfred Honeck for a Mahler gala in Kaliste (Tcheque Republic) 7 July. The gala will be filmed for later DVD release. Next up is Rossana in Handel’s Alessandro 17 July in Beaune with conductor Eduardo López Banzo. In the end of July she will record Salustia in Handel’s Alessandro Severo with George Petrou.
MARIANNE BEATE KIELLAND in Italy and Norway
The mezzo Marianne Beate Kielland sings Poulenc’s Rhapsodie Nègre and Ravel’s Chanson Madecasse 28 July in Presule (Italy). She sings Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde 31 July in Prösels and 1 August in Toblach. All three concerts with the conductor Philipp von Steinaecker. 20 August she sings Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste.
MAGNUS STAVELAND and HAVARD STENSVOLD in Don Giovanni at Drottningholm
Tenor Magnus Staveland sings Don Ottavio and the bass-baritone Havard Stensvold sings Masetto and Il Commenadatore in Don Giovanni at Drottningholm Opera Festival 31 July, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 August with conductor Mark Tatlow. The production will be filmed for later broadcast. Magnus Staveland sings Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 inOslo 20 August with conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste.
KRISTINA HAMMARSTRÖM - Handel recording with George Petrou
The mezzo-soprano Kristina Hammarström sang a highly acclaimed title role on the recording of Handel’s Giulio Cesare with conductor George Petrou. They continue their collaboration; this time with a recording of Handel’s Alessandro Severo. The opera will also be performed 17 July at the Renaissance Festival of Rethymnon, Crete.
JOHANNES WEISSER at the Edinburgh International Festival
Young baritone Johannes Weisser sings Haydn’s Die Schöpfung 29 and 30 July in Trondheim. 14 August he sings a recital in Droebak. 25 August he sings Ramiro Ravel’s L'heure espagnole at the Edinburgh International Festival under the baton of Stéphane Denève.
MARI ERIKSMOEN in Aix en Provence and Norway
The young soprano Mari Eriksmoen sings a concert at the Festival d'Aix en Provence 4 July. She then travels to Norway for Haydn’s Die Schöpfung 29 and 30 July in Trondheim.

Tenor/haute-contre Anders J. Dahlin sings Campra’s Le Carnaval de Venise at the Early Music Festival in Utrecht 30 August with the conductor Hervé Niquet and his orchestra Le Concert Spirituel.
