Marius Roth Christensen made his debut at the Norwegian National Opera as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte in 2006. He is now a member of the soloist ensemble at the Norwegian National Opera where his roles include Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La bohème, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Beppe in I Pagliacci, Oronte in Alcina, Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer, Eurimaco in Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria, White Minister in Le Grand Macabre, Camille de Rossilon in Die Lustige Witwe and the Fire-fighter in Bengt Perry’s The Doll-Doctor.

He has also sung Rodolfo in La bohème, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana and Beppe in I Pagliacci at Oscarsborg Opera Festival, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at the Kristiansund Opera, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Nordfjord, Bastien in Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne in Larvik, and Camille de Rossilon in Die Lustige Witwe at the Sandefjord Opera Festival.

His concert repertoire includes a number of works by Bruckner, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Rossini and Schubert. He is especially sought after for Verdi’s Requiem and Haydn’s Die Schöpfung.

Recent guest engagements have included Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Lyric Opera Dublin, Oronte in Alcina at the Royal Danish Opera, King Assueros in Handel’s Esther at the Karlsruhe Handel Festival and Handel’s Israel in Egypt at Maggio Musicale Florence.
